C-Reactive Protein Rapid Test – Product code: SC-0975-25

The C-Reactive Protein Rapid Test Cassette (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the semi-quantitative detection of human CRP in whole blood, serum or plasma to aid in the detection of myocardial infarction (MI). C-reactive protein (CRP) in patient serum has been found in association with acute infections, necrotic conditions and various inflammatory disorders. There is a strong correlation between serum levels of PCR and the activation of the inflammatory process. Monitoring the PCR levels in the patient’s serum helps to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and the recovery status of the patient. It is used in particular to distinguish bacterial from viral infections. The rapid semi-quantitative CRP test (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) identifies the C reactive Protein through the visual interpretation of the development of color in the inner strip. PCR antibodies are immobilized in the test area of the membrane. During the test the sample reacts with the conjugated PCR antibodies on the stained particles and on the pre-coated test sample pad. The compound then migrates to the membrane by capillary action and interacts with the reagents on the membrane. If the intensity of the test strip is weaker than the reference strip (R), the PCR level in the sample is between 10 and 60 mg/L. If the intensity of the test strip (T) is stronger than that on the reference strip (R), the CRP level is higher than 60 mg/L. The appearance of the control line serves as a procedural control, indicating that the amount of sample used is sufficient and the membrane has been soaked correctly
