Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Antigen Test – Product code: SC-0654-25

Rapid test for the qualitative detection of Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Antigen on a pharyngeal sample. For professional in vitro diagnostic use only. The rapid test for Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Antigen is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. Pneumoniae) antigens in human throat swabs. It is intended to assist in the rapid differential diagnosis of mycoplasma pneumoniae infections. M. pneumoniae is one of three Mycoplasma species that frequently cause infections in humans. M. pneumoniae most commonly causes upper respiratory tract infections, but it can also cause pneumonia. The identification of M.pneumoniae will help in the treatment of the disease with appropriate antibiotic therapy. This immunoassay for M. pneumoniae is designed to qualitatively detect the M. pneumoniae antigen. Because this rapid test is easy to use, it is widely used as a screening instrument and an aid in the diagnosis of diseases caused by M. pneumoniae. The rapid test for Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Antigen is a qualitative, lateral scrolling immunoassay for the qualitative detection of mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. Pneumoniae) antigens in human throat swabs. In this test, the specific antibody for M. pneumoniae covers the test area on the support. During testing, the extracted throat swab specimen reacts with an antibody to M. pneumoniae that coats the particles. The compound migrates upward on the membrane to react with the M. pneumoniae antibody on the membrane and generates a colored line in the test area. The presence of this colored line in the test area indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. As a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control zone, indicating that a sufficient amount of sample has been used and that the membrane has been soaked correctly.
