Fecal Occult Blood Rapid Test – Product code: SC-0883-25

Quick, immediate test for the qualitative detection of Human Occult Blood in feces. For professional in vitro use only. The Screen FOB rapid test (Feces) is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of Human Occult Blood in faeces. Many diseases can cause hidden blood in the stool. This is also known as Fecal Occult Blood (FOB), Human Occult Blood or Human Hemoglobin. In the early stages, gastrointestinal problems such as colon cancer, ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulitis, and fissures may show no visible symptoms, only occult blood. Traditional methods based on guaiac testing are insensitive and specific and also have dietary restrictions prior to testing. The rapid test for FOB (Feces) is a rapid test for the qualitative detection of low levels of Occult Blood in the stool. The test uses a dual antibody method to selectively detect Faecal Occult Blood and 50 ng/mL or more, or 6μg/g of stool. Furthermore, unlike guaiac tests, the accuracy of the test is not affected by the patient’s diet. Many diseases can cause hidden blood in the stool. The FOB rapid test is a qualitative, lateral scrolling immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Human Occult Blood in stool samples. In this test the membrane is pre-coated with anti-hemoglobin antibody in the test line region. During the test, the sample reacts with the particle coated with anti-hemoglobin antibody. The compound migrates upwards on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action reacting with the anti-hemoglobin antibody on the membrane and generates a colored line in the test line area. The presence of this colored line indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. As a procedural control, a colored line always appears in the control line region, indicating that the correct volume of sample has been used and that the membrane has been soaked.
